new designer tazer for the girl next door

It resembles a hand-held electric razor and is available in metallic pink, electric blue, titanium silver and black pearl. But it gives out a 50,000-volt jolt that short-circuits brain signals and momentarily incapacitates.

Police forces in the United States have been issued with Tasers since 1999 to subdue violent criminals. A pistol-like civilian version aimed at the self-defense market has been available since 1994.

Dungeons of Daggorath

While staggering my way through the severe waste of time that Wikipedia is, I encountered a blast from my past… Dungeons of Daggorath.  Many an hour was wasted in Jr. High Basic Programming classes playing this game on the TRS-80 computer (while I should have been programming).

Many weeks were dedicated at home during my formative teen years playing the very same game on my TRS-80 color 3 (though I don’t ever recall beating the blasted wizard(s) displayed in the image to the left)…

I haven’t a CLUE where I put the cartridge or the computer (or a TV I would dare plug the screen-burning beasty into), but that matters not because it has been ported to the Windows platform.  If Windows Vista was created for anything, surely it must be the the PC-PORT of this awesome game.

The port has available some nice extensions like random maps, twinking equipment (what hearty compuer adventurer wouldn’t love that) and sound enhancements. Plays full screen only (from what I can tell) so don’t play it at work! Continue Reading ‘Dungeons of Daggorath’

Ebay Tightens Restrictions on Gun Parts Sales

From the Bullet Points E-Newsletter of the NSSF (National Shooting Sports Foundation):

EBAY TIGHTENS GUN-RELATED RESTRICTIONS . . . eBay, the giant Internet auction Web site, announced that in mid-August it will be updating its Firearms, Weapons and Knives Policy to place more restrictions on gun-related items. Through a message from Matt Halprin, eBay’s vice president, trust and safety, the company said it will prohibit listings of any firearm part that is required for firing of a gun. "After learning that some items purchased on eBay may have been used in the tragedy at Virginia Tech in April 2007," the message stated, "We felt that revisiting our policies was not only necessary, but the right thing to do." AntiqueWeek.com on Friday featured an article about eBay’s decision.

That explains a whole bunch

Three Arkansas surgeons were playing golf together and discussing surgeries they had performed.

One of them said, "I’m the best surgeon in Arkansas In my favorite case, a concert pianist lost seven fingers in an accident, I reattached them, and 8 months later he performed a private concert for the Queen of England."

The second surgeon said. "That’s nothing. A young man lost an arm and both legs in an accident, I reattached them, and 2 years later he won a gold Medal in track and field events in the Olympics."

The third surgeon said, "You guys are amateurs. Several years ago a Woman was high on cocaine and she rode a horse head-on into a train traveling at 80 miles an hour. All I had left to work with was the woman’s blonde hair and the horse’s ass. I was able to put them together and now she’s running for President."

‘Our playgrounds have become battlegrounds’

Obama delivers message tough on guns
CHICAGO (FinalCall.com) – Just days prior to announcing his urban agenda aimed at combating urban poverty, malady Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama entered Vernon Park Church of God on July 15 to a thunderous applause from a supportive crowd with a message challenging the gun lobby, criticizing the Bush administration and issuing a call to action for Black men.

“Our playgrounds have become battlegrounds. Our streets have become cemeteries. Our schools have become places to mourn the ones we’ve lost,” said the Illinois senator. “I’m sick and tired of seeing our young people gunned down.”

Delorean Dreams Come True

Thank you Texas! The Delorean motor company has been purchased (and moved to Texas) and now you can order your own Delorean (minus the Flux Capacitor) from Delorean.com

I am thinking of trading in the ’03 BMW and getting myself a piece of history (+ some of the newer addons like IPOD connectivity, Xenon lights, enhanced suspension, beefed up engine, XM Radio and maybe a Mr. Fusion power-plant).

Yes, it’s a sick dream, but the stainless steel exterior will match nicely with my .45 H&K USP (with stainless slide) and my all-stainless AMT .45 backup.  If the terrorists try chasing me around in a VW Van, I will push this little baby up passed 88 mph and leave a flaming trail of lead behind me.

Of course, I haven’t broached the subject with my wife and financial advisor, so this might not happen until I pay off my guitars and hockey equipment. (yikes, that could take all year)!

A good portion of my Adult Hockey League team-mates (the Komets) own Mini’s and often tease me that my BMW is ‘trying to be a mini"… Well I will scoff at their pitiful mini’s with a new set of Gull-Wing doors. So Naahh!!

Wait… This isn’t a "hatch-back" is it?  Ahh, forgeddaboudit.  Continue Reading ‘Delorean Dreams Come True’

Stupid Hippies

I don’t know why… but I felt the need to be mean to some hippies today… Is that ok?

You know the best thing about hippies?  If they aren’t in Washington trying to get into power, they are on the west coast trying to find a place to sleep in the park.  Less lice for me! Continue Reading ‘Stupid Hippies’

Beating Around The Bush White House

Democratic presidential hopefuls struggled Monday night to answer questions posed by young, Internet-savvy voters who challenged the candidates’ own place in a broken political system and posed questions about traditional political labels such as "liberal."

"Wassup?" came the first question, from a voter named Zach whose video got the debate off to an unconventional start. He went on to ask how any of the Democrats would do better than the failed leadership in Congress and the White House.

"How are you going to be any different?"

Sen. Barack Obama, a freshmen lawmaker trying to appeal to the public’s thirst for change, replied, "One of the things I bring is a perspective … that says Washington has to change."

His chief rival, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, claimed she has a 35- year-record as an agent of change. "The issue is which one of us will be ready from Day One."
