Today I took my son to see some of the events surrounding the 2006-2007 NHL All Star Game in Dallas Texas. The NorthPark Mall hosted an event which included Todd McFarlane, NHL Celebs and Lord Stanleys Cup!
I was only out for the first day but it was AWESOME to see so many fans from all over N. America swarming the place. Being from Michigan, I was able to speak the language of those Canucks who looked like invaders from another world next to the jeans and cowboy boots of the locals. "Say Ya to da’ U.P. Eh?"
To celebrate further, I think I will be digging up my all-time favorite hockey movie Strange Brew. I watched Slap Shot last night, but it had none of the sinister plots that one might expect from a true hockey classic!
We arrived around 11:30am and began standing in line. We didn’t quite know what we were standing in line for, but had figured once it was our turn we would know what it was we were waiting on.
I have put some pictures up from the event. Specials/2007AllStar

Just because I could: Are you using Windows Vista yet? It’s pretty darned cool and *unlike when* you switched up from Windows 98 to Windows 2000, this OS doesn’t take anymore time to load than what you are used to. Programs do not run slower, Ram requirements do not bite you in the backside and even your flimsy 1Gig processor will manage to keep itself off of the redline!
And now there are GADGETS! Similar to those neat add-in tools found on http://www.live.com, these handy drop-on items can be informational, entertaining, useful or just pretty. If you know how to write HTML and a little Javascript, even you can write Gadgets for your sidebar.
I wrote my second Gadget and now offer it to you (though a vast majority of you are not yet using Vista since it technically hasn’t been released to the general public). You wouldn’t want my first one… it only said "hello world" in a rather smug fashion.
This Gadget will scroll your favorite MySpace friends photos either as a small Gadget in your Sidebar or as a LARGE GADGET on your desktop. The default will display my MySpace pictures, but you simply need to click on the little tool icon to the right to change that to some other Friend ID. I think you will figure it out.
Download it now: MySpacePictures.gadget Continue Reading ‘MySpace Picture Viewer for Vista Sidebar’
Traditionally, whomever is leading in polling one year ahead of the Presidential primaries becomes the eventual party nominee. If tradition holds true…there is a storm on the horizon… http://www.buckeyefirearms.org/article3493.html
Ranking in at #3 on the GOP side, and the only other Republican candidate polling in double-digits, is Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice. Rice is on record as saying that gun rights are as important as free speech, and that her staunch defense of gun rights comes from memories of Birmingham’s racial turmoil, when her father and other neighborhood men took up arms and guarded the streets at night to keep white vigilantes at bay. Unfortunately, Rice has repeatedly said she is not interested in the top job.
Persons interested in knowing more about efforts to encourage Condoleeza Rice, the only top-polling candidate that is pro-gun, to run for President, may visit:

Well, its that time again… the Auto Industries are showing off their concept vehicles to a gadget hungry world of Geeks! The only cars I am truely interested in are the come-back cars like the Dodge Challenger, the Ford Mustang and other notables which have a hint of the old school flava…
One vehicle that didn’t give me much time for pause was the Honda Step Bus… Touted as being "Designed around city nightlife and high energy lifestyles, the Honda STEP BUS Concept represents the ultimate expression of Honda packaging prowess with a mid-engine design and a fully maximized and quickly adaptable interior". It is seriously square… so square in fact, I just HAD to apply some Borg-Cube decals to it to even consider it a contender!

Prof Stephen Hawking is planning a space flight. The world’s best-known scientist, who is 65 today, told The Daily Telegraph: "This year I’m planning a zero-gravity flight and to go into space in 2009."
Prof Hawking’s next step towards the cosmos then depends on the Virgin Galactic space tourism plans of Sir Richard Branson, whose SpaceShipTwo will carry six passengers into a low Earth orbit from 2008.
The craft will be launched at 50,000ft from a mothership and soar into space at around 360,000ft, reaching a speed of 2,500mph — more than three times the speed of sound.

A recent study shows that the primary contributor to Global Warming is the flatulence from Cows (who are kept in abundance for food). They produce so much gas because they eat plant-matter.
This leads me to believe that the 2nd greatest contributor to Global Warming must then be Veggans! There is a two-fold reason for this: 1 – they do not eat cows, and lowering their emmissions. 2 – they eat veggies only, hospital producing higher-than-average emissions theirselves!
Great logic, right? END GLOBAL WARMING, EAT VEGGANS! Continue Reading ‘End Global Warming, Eat A Veggan!’
James Brown, the undeniable "Godfather of Soul," told friends from his hospital bed that he was looking forward to performing on New Year’s Eve, even though he was ill with pneumonia. His heart gave out a few hours later, on Christmas morning. Yes. James Brown Is Dead [WMA audio].

We have all had it beat into our heads from childhood to regard law enforcement as a ‘protected species’. Only the bad guys shoot at cops; we law abiding citizens honor the work done by those fine men and women who are out doing a job none of us want to do. But what if that masked man running up your stairway yelling "FBI! FBI!" isn’t really a cop? How are we to know? Do we shoot first, risking a certain death warrent by angered cops or not shoot only to find its is a disguised intruder who is going to kill us anyway? I rushed over to BestBuy yesterday to get the first Zune… They hadn’t even set up the displays, so the guy had to go to the back and get me my brown one. BestBuy was nice enough to match their online-purchase offer of providing a free case for the Zune (either the leather or the arm-band version), which is normally sold for $30.
Firstly, I would like to say this is not a comparison to an IPOD. I haven’t owned one, though I have played with several other brands of MP3 players. Most of my media playback experience comes from using a PocketPC and 1gig memory card addons.
Packaging: I was concerned when I first pulled my brown Zune out of its VERY NICE packaging because I couldn’t find a charger or much of anything else. After a few hesitant moments, I found cool compartments in the package that contained headphones, a little brown soft-cloth baggy and a USB connection cord.
Install: I put the included CD in and it not only set up my drivers, registered and installed an interface/media player for the laptop, but also synced my stuff and upgraded the internal Zune software right away (claiming to give me more stable and faster network sharing). It required that I have internet access naturally for this step, but that’s cool with me.
Power: It has a lithium ion battery, which means long battery life without the ‘memory’ problems associated with earlier battery types. No charger! The battery was showing only a partial charge right out of the box, but I happily found that it gathered its charge from the small trickle provided by the USB port. Very nice, no more boxy power supplies!!!
Graphics: Wow. Big bright screen (compared to my Pocket PC). Menus fade in and grow and slide around very much like those in Windows XP Media Center Edition. Synced pictures on it? Then you can use them for your background. Those get faded, resized, rotated, zoomed and all that other jazz for you depending on what you are doing.
