Congress will be on its Summer District Work Period from July 26 through Labor Day. That means that the gun-banners have just 10 working days left during which to push “assault weapons” legislation if they hope to get a vote before the September 13 “sunset” of the Clinton gun ban. With time running out, the anti-gunners and their media sympathizers are becoming desperate.
We must remain vigilant against any attempt to reauthorize this legislation. We can expect the gun prohibitionists to mount a major offensive battle and now, more than ever, it is critical that we remain active! Please visit NRA-ILA’s website — www.ClintonGunBan.com — to learn the facts about this debate. And please continue to forward this website to others who need to know both the history and the truth about this issue. Then, please immediately contact your Representative and Senators and urge them to oppose any legislation seeking to ! extend the “assault weapons” ban.
You can find contact information for your elected officials by using the “Write Your Representatives” tool at www.NRAILA.org, or you can call your U.S. Senators at (202) 224-3121, or your U.S. Representative at (202) 225-3121. The idea of blowing up an asteroid makes for good movie scripts, but is not the way to do it in the real universe. Many of the fragments would remain on a collision course and like the blast from a shotgun; the fragments can do up to ten times as much damage as the original, intact object.

The slam-bang Don Quijote mission would help scientists figure out how to deflect or destroy any asteroid in the future that might be found to be on a collision course with Earth. The project uses the Spanish spelling of Don Quixote, the protagonist in Cervantes’ novel who has chivalrous ideas that tend toward the impractical.

Michael Moore can handle verbal abuse from the conservative pundits in America, but harsh words from Pete Townshend, lead guitarist for The Who, may hit closer to his BIG FAT CLOGGED liberal heart.
Moore wanted Townshend’s rock anthem “Won’t Get Fooled Again” for use on the soundtrack of his anti-Bush documentary film, “Fahrenheit 9/11.” Townshend refused, saying he thought Moore’s previous movies amounted to “bullying.”
In response, Townshend said that Moore accused him of being a war supporter… [and his] …attitude was evocative of President Bush’s war on terrorism credo: if you’re not with me, you’re against me. Continue Reading ‘Michael Moore, Ugly American’

Do you remember a year ago when the Democratic National Committee was putting out press releases headlined ”President Bush Deceives The American People”?
Yawn. What’s new? But last summer the Bush Lie Of The Week was all to do with Saddam trying to buy uranium from Niger. CNN and Co. replayed endlessly the critical 16 words from the president’s 2003 State of the Union Address:
”The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa.”
Sixteen words that could break a presidency! Bush ”misled every one of us,” huffed Sen. John Kerry. ”It’s beginning to sound like Watergate,” said Howard Dean. Joseph C. Wilson IV, the man the CIA sent to Africa to investigate, wrote a piece for the New York Times titled ”What I didn’t find in Africa.” Continue Reading ‘Maybe, just maybe, Bush didn’t deceive?’
Semiautomatic weapons ban: On March 2, 2004, Kerry and Edwards both voted for an amendment sponsored by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) that would extend what gun control groups call the “assault weapons ban.”
Signed into law by President Bill Clinton in 1994, the measure outlaws certain magazines and more than 180 types of semi-automatic firearms. It will expire in September unless Congress bows to pressure from gun-control groups to renew the ban.
Outlawing private sales. Kerry and Edwards also voted on March 2 for language that would outlaw the private sale of firearms at gun shows, unless the buyer agrees to submit to a background check, GOA said.

I can scarcely stomach the injustices of the world; while founder and chairman of Enron is paraded in front of cameras with handcuffs for talking in a far too positive light regarding the financial status of Enron, men of the cloth (priests) who have consistently sheltered child sex offenders for decades get to declare bankruptcy with no legal ramifications.
When are we, as a people, going to hold lawbreakers accountable? Laws are only good to the extent that we enforce them. Why aren’t FBI suits swarming the nations Diocese and arresting men accused of sexual abuse against children!!!!
Should I answer my own question? (Oops, there is another question)
Answer: Because money and power keep the law on a short leash. They can’t make any excuses about the church being a religious institution because Janet “Big Ben” Reno had a hand in burning to the ground a building full of religious families in Waco, Texas.
