Microsoft is investigating the recent on-line release of a pirated copy of the forthcoming Xbox “Halo 2” game, buy warning that downloading the code, help or making it available for download, clinic will be treated as theft. Halo 2 is the sequel to the best selling “Halo: Combat Evolved” game, and is due to go on sale on 9th November. According to reports, a pirated copy of a European version of the game was released onto the internet late on Wednesday, but is unlikely to have a serious impact on sales because of copy protection mechanisms contained in the Xbox console itself. I can certainly see what Sen. Kerry is getting at. That pesky prostitution might get into our schools and gun down our children. That annoying illegal gambling might slam a fuel burdened plane into a skyscraper which symbolizes American fiscal strength. We would *only* lose a few thousand people, millions of jobs and a couple bucks here and there. That bothersome John F’ing Kerry might toss a couple cruise missiles at a single terrorist training camp and call it all good. You are going to vote for him why? Oh yeah… “Anybody but Bush”. Sun Microsystems has agreed to pay Eastman Kodak $92 million to settle an intellectual property dispute between the two companies, Sun disclosed last week. The announcement came just days after a federal jury found that Sun had infringed on three of Kodak’s object-oriented software patents when it created Java. Kodak was seeking more than $1 billion in royalties in the suit, so the agreement to settle all pending litigation for less than $100 million seems like a bargain.
