WHETHER THE SECOND AMENDMENT SECURES AN INDIVIDUAL RIGHT http://www.usdoj.gov/olc/secondamendment2.htm
The Second Amendment secures a right of individuals generally, not a right of States or a right restricted to persons serving in militias.
Conclusion
For the foregoing reasons, we conclude that the Second Amendment secures an individual right to keep and to bear arms. Current case law leaves open and unsettled the question of whose right is secured by the Amendment.
Although we do not address the scope of the right, our examination of the original meaning of the Amendment provides extensive reasons to conclude that the Second Amendment secures an individual right, and no persuasive basis for either the collective-right or quasi-collective-right views. An attempt to launch an interceptor missile as part of the U.S. missile defence shield failed early Wednesday in the first test of the system in nearly two years.
The Missile Defense Agency said the ground-based interceptor automatically shutdown “due to an unknown anomaly” shortly before it was to be launched from Kwajalein Atoll in the central Pacific Ocean. Continue Reading ‘missile defence shield test fails’

Lycos made headlines during the past several days by distributing a screensaver designed to swamp the sites of those deemed responsible for spam with traffic, in effect giving spammers, at least the companies that bankroll them, a taste of their own medicine.
After passing the 100,000-download mark, the ‘Make Love Not Spam’ program was scrapped.
This week, F-Secure warns of emails that seemingly contain the screensaver but instead delivers a dangerous payload that piggybacks on the buzz surrounding Lycos’ controversial program. According to the company, the fake emails can be quickly identified via the following attributes:

This Christmas I have the extreme pleasure of being visited by my baby brother Nathan. He returned from Iraq rather recently and is currently stationed at Ft. Campbell. His unit is to return to either Bagdad or Afg. early this next year.
Fortunately for all of his family, cheap he is awaiting orders to begin a tour with the White House Communications agency (of which my wife is a veteran of under President Ronald Reagan).
Welcome “home” little brother. We are all so proud of you and of your service, and so would have been Dad. Continue Reading ‘Family Visiting for Christmas’
The picture (click to view full image) shows that this soldier has been thru Survival School and learned his lessons well. He’s giving the sign of “coercion” with his left hand. These hand signs are taught in survival school to be used by POW’s as a method of posing messages back to our intelligence services who may view the photo or video. This guy was obviously being coerced into shaking hands with Hillary Clinton. It’s ironic how little she knew that he would so inform us about the photo – - – perhaps because she’s never understood our brave military to begin with.

Twas the night before Christmas, order he lived all alone,
In a one bedroom house made of plaster & stone.
I had come down the chimney with presents to give
And to see just who in this home did live.
I looked all about a strange sight I did see,
No tinsel, no presents, not even a tree.
No stocking by the fire, just boots filled with sand,
On the wall hung pictures of far distant lands.
With medals and badges, awards of all kind
A sober thought came through my mind.
For this house was different, so dark and dreary,
I knew I had found the home of a soldier, once I could see clearly.
I heard stories about them, I had to see more
So I walked down the hall and pushed open the door.
And there he lay sleeping silent alone,
Curled up on the floor in his one bedroom home.
His face so gentle, his room in such disorder,
Not how I pictured a United States soldier.
Was this the hero of whom I’d just read?
Curled up in his poncho, a floor for his bed?
