"Louis Farrakhan, approved leader of Nation of Islam, sick accused the US government of "criminal neglect" for its slow response to Hurricane Katrina in a speech to mark the 10th anniversary of the Million Man March. The leader, 72, urged a class action law suit on behalf of the citizens of New Orleans who lost everything. "I firmly believe that if the people on those rooftops [in New Orleans] had blond hair and blue eyes and pale skin, something would have been done in a more timely manner." he said. I pray for an end to racism. If not to grant everyone the respect we all deserve, then to starve the radical mutations which have sprouted in the shadow of MLK. Groups like the Nation of Islam feed on racism and the attention they get in the media. They also cultivate racism with outrageous statements like the one above. They harvest their influence and finances from the crops they tend over the airways of the American media. We are the branches which bear the fruit they feed on. No More Feeding On Racism and No More Feeding Racism! Let it die so we can all get around to melting into the great pot called The United States of America. I watched the Nova: Science and Nature program on the equation E=MC2, called "Einstein’s Big Idea". I was VERY pleased by the production and loved the concept they followed as they explored the learning and history in which famous E=MC2 equation is built on.
After reading (well, listening to) Bill Brysons book "A short history about almost everything" I thought I pretty much knew the names. There were a few surprises in there. Excellent indeed.
Tis ’bout two hours long. Continue Reading ‘Einstein’s Big Idea’
I have recently, and determinedly, begun my first trek through the Robert Jordan Wheel of Time series; I put it off for years. I am ALMOST done with book 6 (Lord of Chaos) and I am completely absorbed with it.
Rand, the Dragon Reborn, has been kidnapped by the darker half of a broken White Tower, filled with women who can channel The One Power, to be collared and controlled. During a rescue by 1000′s of his Dragon Sworn, Rand’s secret army of Ashaman show what they can do by channeling the male half of the One Power. They were created to be a weapon, and horrifically, they ARE.
This NEEDS to have the Peter Jackson touch and be put up on the big screen. SICK sick sick. Sick. Continue Reading ‘Army of Ashaman’
"In New Orleans, illness the tumult and anguish of the past week were replaced by a haunting calm, erectile as the last survivors were lifted out by helicopter.
The streets were deserted apart from the soldiers, viagra dosage and the cats and dogs rooting through rubbish. In districts where the national guard and police were not out in force, there was still a sense of nervousness. One spray-painted sign on a building warned: "Drunks with guns – you loot, we shoot." ~ from The Guardian

I think perhaps the French should be use as live trolling bait to catch terrorists in Iraq and Afganistan. We could dress them up like American tourists and put a big hook with a GPS tracking device in their lower lip and send them out waving a huge US flag shouting Viva La President Bush! Why? ‘Cause…
STRAY dogs are being skewered on hooks and dragged behind boats as live shark bait, The Sun can shockingly reveal.
The cruel practice takes place on French-controlled Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean, where Prince William spent two holidays. A six-month-old labrador pup was recently found ALIVE with a huge double hook through its snout – like the dog above – and another through a leg. ‘This is one homeowner that you ain’t going to mess with’
Stabbed by a burglar in his own garage, a Texas homeowner fought back, shooting the suspect three times. Danny Dunn of Corpus Christi told local KRIS-TV that when an intruder entered his home just before 6 a.m. yesterday, he was determined to not go down without a fight.
"This is one homeowner that you ain’t going to mess with," Dunn said. "I’ll take the next one down too."

On September 17th, sales 2005 I completed my two forms and fighting and left the school where the Traditional Karate League was holding its 4th tournament of the 2005 season. It hadn’t been a very nice day; I drew blood from my first competitor and lost (not under control) and had some really inconsistent scoring in my forms, capsule the scheduled location was cancelled so we had to all cram into an elementary school auditorium, page it was 104 degrees outside (Texas) and the air conditioner couldn’t keep up with the mass of people and the fact that people were leaving the doors open to circulate air. It was just a bad day.
To top it off, it took me 2 days to discover I had lost my digital camera, likely at the tournament event! That camera is a Canon Digital Rebel with a kick-butt double battery pack containing shooting controls just like the camera body (for vertical shooting). There’s about $1000 in “stuff” there and I have only paid a hundred bucks for it so far. My stress levels were way over nominal at this point; who in their right mind would let a nice camera go if they found it? I not only haven’t paid for it yet, but can’t replace it either..

As you know, on September 22, NRA filed a motion in United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana to block authorities from confiscating law-abiding citizens’ firearms in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. On September 23, the Court sided with NRA and issued a restraining order to bar further gun confiscations from law-abiding victims of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.
The controversy over gun confiscations erupted when The New York Times reported that the New Orleans Superintendent of Police Eddie Compass directed that no civilians in New Orleans will be allowed to have guns and that "only law enforcement are allowed to have weapons." ABC News quoted New Orleans’ Deputy Police Chief Warren Riley, saying, "No one will be able to be armed. We are going to take all the weapons."

According to the National Self Defense Survey conducted by Florida State University criminologists in 1994, the rate of Defensive Gun Uses can be projected nationwide to approximately 2.5 million per year — one Defensive Gun Use every 13 seconds.
Among 15.7% of gun defenders interviewed nationwide during The National Self Defense Survey, the defender believed that someone "almost certainly" would have died had the gun not been used for protection — a life saved by a privately held gun about once every 1.3 minutes. (In another 14.2% cases, the defender believed someone "probably" would have died if the gun hadn’t been used in defense.)
