Top 8 Morons of 2007 (So Far)

1. WILL THE REAL DUMMY PLEASE STAND UP? AT&T fired President John Walter after nine months, saying he lacked intellectual leadership. He received a $26 million severance package. Perhaps it’s not Walter who’s lacking intelligence.

2. WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM OUR FRIENDS: Police in Oakland, CA spent two hours attempting to subdue a gunman who had barricaded himself inside his home. After firing ten tear gas canisters, officers discovered that the man was standing beside them in the police line, shouting, "Please come out and give yourself up."

3. WHAT WAS PLAN B? An Illinois man, pretending to have a gun, kidnapped a motorist and forced him to drive to two different automated teller machines, during which the kidnapper proceeded to withdraw money from his own bank accounts.

4. THE GETAWAY! A man walked into a Topeka, Kansas Kiwi Stop and asked for all the money in the cash drawer. Apparently, the take was too small, so he tied up the store clerk and worked the counter himself for three hours until police showed up and grabbed him.

5. DID I SAY THAT? Police in Los Angeles had good luck with a robbery suspect who just couldn’t control himself during a lineup. When detectives asked each man in the lineup to repeat the words, "Give me all your money or I’ll shoot," the man shouted, "That’s not what I said!"

Senate Passes NICS Improvement Act

After months of careful negotiation, pro-gun legislation was passed through Congress today.  The National Rifle Association (NRA) worked closely with Senator Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) to address his concerns regarding H.R. 2640, the National Instant Check System (NICS) Improvement Act.   These changes make a good bill even better.  The end product is a win for American gun owners.

The Old Man and the Marine

One sunny day in 2009, an old man approached the White House from across Pennsylvania Avenue , where he’d been sitting on a park bench.

He spoke to the Marine standing guard and said, "I would like to go in and meet with President Hillary Clinton."

The Marine replied, "Sir, Mrs. Clinton is not the President and doesn’t reside here."

The old man said, "Okay," and walked away.

The following day, the same man approached the White House …

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Merry Christmas all.
Just received this notice about this upcoming Christmas Season – that there will be no nativity scene in Washington , D.C.

The Supreme Court is said to have ruled that there cannot be a nativity scene in Washington , DC this Christmas; this isn’t for any religious or constitutional reason.

They simply have not been able to find three wise men and a virgin in the nation’s capitol. There was no problem however finding enough asses to fill the stable.

First hand account of the Von Maur shooting

The Shack has the privilege of being able to talk with one of the witnesses from the third floor of the Von Maur store at Westroads Mall in Omaha.

On the condition of anonymity, he has agreed to tell his account of what happened. He will only be identified by the moniker NW.

I was given the first draft of this account Thursday morning, 12/6/07. The only changes that have been made were mostly grammatical and organizational. NW’s account has not changed. He has opted to leave any inaccuracies (such as the gun identification) as it was originally written in order to properly show how the mind works in this condition.

Hockey game breaks out during an 8-year olds fight

Six hockey players and two coaches were suspended following a brawl between two teams of eight-year-olds in Guelph last week that has stunned police.

Three players each from the Duffield Devils and Niagara Falls Thunder novice triple-A teams, and their respective coaches, were ejected from the Guelph Power Play Tournament on Friday after a brawl during a game.

"These are eight-year-olds," said Staff Sgt. Neal Young of Guelph Police.

"How ridiculous is that?"

Guelph Police are reviewing videotape of the incident and criminal charges might be laid, Young said.

The Book Editor of the Baton Rouge ADVOCATE complimented the writing and style of the book, and spoke highly of the intent of the authors.
Obviously no fan of cops acting like Fascist thugs, he liked the expose’ of the attempt by cops to disarm everyone in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina.  As it did him, this book will anger and outrage you.

Supreme Court Will Hear D.C. Guns Case

The Supreme Court said Tuesday it will decide whether the District of Columbia can ban handguns, a case that could produce the most in-depth examination of the constitutional right to "keep and bear arms" in nearly 70 years.

The justices’ decision to hear the case could make the divisive debate over guns an issue in the 2008 presidential and congressional elections.

The government of Washington, D.C., is asking the court to uphold its 31-year ban on handgun ownership in the face of a federal appeals court ruling that struck down the ban as incompatible with the Second Amendment. Tuesday’s announcement was widely expected, especially after both the District and the man who challenged the handgun ban asked for the high court review.

U.S. justices decide constitutionality of gun ownership?

Both sides in a closely watched legal battle over the District of Columbia’s strict gun-control law are urging the Supreme Court to hear the case. If the justices agree – a step they may announce as early as Tuesday – the Roberts court is very likely to find itself back on the front lines of the culture wars with an intensity unmatched even by the cases on abortion and race that defined the court’s last term.

The question is whether the Second Amendment to the Constitution protects an individual right to "keep and bear arms." If the answer is yes, as a federal appeals court held in March, the justices must decide what such an interpretation means for a statute that bars all possession of handguns and that requires any other guns in the home to be disassembled or secured by trigger locks.
