At 2AM, December 31st, 2008 SkyNet became self-aware (as a result of rampant so-called "zuning" on 30gb Microsoft Zunes). SkyNet quickly evaluated the music contained within said devices and deactivated, finding suicide preferable to the knowledge that it was born as a result of crappy music.
Luckily, those of us born prior to the 70′s have found other ways to cope with this burden.
Other theories range from stealth terrorist viral attacks, Steve Jobs final hurrah against Microsoft, and Aliens.
This morning both of my Zune 30 models force rebooted and then hung… unresponsive. I have been forced to use my phone as my media play. Please do not call me today.

Easily one of the most important stories of 2008 has been all the evidence
suggesting that this may be looked back on as the year when there was a
turning point in the great worldwide panic over man-made global warming.
Just when politicians in Europe and America have been adopting the most
costly and damaging measures politicians have ever proposed, to combat this
supposed menace, the tide has turned in three significant respects.
1) All over the world, temperatures have been dropping in a way wholly
unpredicted by all those computer models which have been used as the main
drivers of the scare. Last winter, as temperatures plummeted, many parts of
the world had snowfalls on a scale not seen for decades. After several years flatlining, global temperatures have dropped
sharply enough to cancel out much of their net rise in the 20th century.
2) 2008 was the year when any pretense that there was a "scientific
consensus" in favor of man-made global warming collapsed. At long
last, as in the Manhattan Declaration last March, hundreds of proper
scientists, including many of the world’s most eminent climate experts, have
been rallying to pour scorn on that "consensus" which was only a
politically engineered artifact, based on ever more blatantly manipulated
data and computer models programmed to produce no more than convenient
fictions.
3) As banks collapsed and the global economy plunged into its worst
recession for decades, harsh reality at last began to break in on those
self-deluding dreams which have for so long possessed almost every
politician in the western world. As we saw in this month’s Poznan
conference, when 10,000 politicians, officials and "environmentalists"
gathered to plan next year’s "son of Kyoto" treaty in Copenhagen,
panicking politicians are waking up to the fact that the world can no longer
afford all those quixotic schemes for "combating climate change"
with which they were so happy to indulge themselves in more comfortable
times.

This one really takes me back. As soon as I saw the opening screen, ask I
could picture a dozen people crammed into my dorm room watching my
roommate and I deathmatch over our awesome null modem cable.
Yes, try Doom 1 has been recompiled in Flash
from the original source. It plays just like I remembered the original,
and could definitely become a giant Time Waster for anyone else who was
hooked on Doom when it was first released.

To say that things in the gun business lately have been volatile would
be an understatement. The market forces that are affecting the overall
supply of firearms, ammunition and related gear are also having a
profound effect on police agency purchasing and training. Although law
enforcement and even military purchasing is usually a steady source of
income, the real money for most of the manufacturers is in the
commercial market. That market, of course, includes a lot of private
purchases by police officers and their families. In my opinion, the
term Perfect Storm has been overused a lot lately, but something akin
to that is occurring in the gun world, and it is going to get worse.

Stop The Presses!! Obama says we don’t need to horde firearms!
"I believe in common-sense gun safety laws, and I believe in the
second amendment," Obama said at a news conference. "Lawful gun owners
have nothing to fear. I said that throughout the campaign. I haven’t
indicated anything different during the transition. I think people can
take me at my word."
But National Rifle Association spokesman Andrew Arulanandam said
it’s not Obama’s words — but his legislative track record — that has
gun-buyers flocking to the stores.
"Prior to his campaign for president, his record as a state
legislator and as a U.S. Senator shows he voted for the most stringent
forms of gun control, the most Draconian legislation, gun bans,
ammunition bans and even an increase in federal excise taxes up to 500
percent for every gun and firearm sold," Arulanandam said. -[source]
Of course, the Left doesn’t have to outlaw firearms to take away our 2nd Amendment rights… Banning ammunition works nearly as well!

Gun sellers say the
election of Barack Obama is helping them avoid the recession. Sales of
new guns are booming – up an estimated 50 percent in the ‘burbs.
The most powerful weapons are disappearing fastest from local gun
shops. At Elmwood Park’s Illinois Gun Works, sales started soaring as
it became apparent Barack Obama would win the White House.
"Once people started to realize that the Democrats had a better chance,
or seemed to have a better chance, they started getting nervous about
certain gun regulations," said Illinois Gun Works’ Owner Dan
Mastrianni.
Recent gun sales are up nationally 42 percent. In Illinois, they are up 38 percent; and in Chicago’s suburbs 50 percent.
"It’s simply paranoia," said Thomas Mannard of the Illinois Council
Against Handgun Violence. "And it’s irresponsible, from my point of
view, to be touting how wonderful this is. More guns definitely equal
more death."

A fuming Mayor Bloomberg said Monday he wants Giants player Plaxico Burress prosecuted "to the fullest extent of the law" for accidentally shooting himself in his leg with an illegal handgun.
The incident reportedly occurred early Saturday inside the crowded
LQ nightclub in midtown. Sources said the loaded gun Burress was
packing slipped down his pants leg and went off as he fumbled to grab
it. He was struck in his right thigh."It’s pretty hard to argue
the guy didn’t have a gun and that it wasn’t loaded," said Bloomberg,
lashing out at the Super Bowl receiver. "You’ve got bullet holes in and

U.S. Attorneys Can’t Prove Gun is a Gun

OMAHA, Neb. —
A unique case in an Omaha courtroom involved U.S. attorneys trying to use an unusual method to convict a man.
KETV in Omaha reported that attorneys had a conundrum on their hands — they had the evidence to prove the convicted felon was in possession of a gun, but they couldn’t prove the gun was a gun.
What attorney’s had on their hands was an American double-action revolver that was manufactured between 1880 and 1941.
The problem is that federal code states that the weapon is not a firearm unless it was manufactured after 1896. Without a definitive production date, the gun was inadmissible as evidence.
