NC Supreme Court Reverses Felony Firearms Act

The N.C. Supreme Court has deemed a 2004 law barring

convicted felons from possessing a firearm — even in their homes —

unconstitutional. – [source]

While I don’t want people who have proven themselves to be untrustworthy in society to have firearms, but I also don’t want any government to tell a human being that they don’t have the right to self defense of themselves and their families (NATURES first law as well as a 2nd Amendment issue).  How do you solve this paradox?
