GIVE ME A KRISS: KRISS Super V Sub-Machine Gun

What do you get when you cross a car wash spray nozzle with a Thompson submachine gun? No, it’s not a joke. It’s a new and rather unconventional .45-caliber subgun.

What do you get when you cross a car wash spray nozzle with a Thompson submachine gun? No, it’s not a joke. It’s a new and rather unconventional .45-caliber (.45 ACP) subgun that attenuates/mitigates felt recoil and muzzle rise/climb–thus increasing controllability–on full-auto by putting the bore axis at or slightly below the centerline of the shooter’s fist and forearm and combining that ergonomic aspect with a mechanical recoil attenuation/mitigation system. It’s called the KRISS Super V Sub-machine gun, and it’s brought to you by the good folks at Transformational Defense Industries (TDI), headquartered in Washington, D.C. That’s more than a little ironic. Think about it–a select-fire (full-auto capable) small arm being developed in D.C., one of the most anti-legal-firearms-ownership/anti-Second Amendment cities in the country. Most likely, TDI’s manufacturing facility is located outside the District (in an actual state, somewhere), and it would seem logical that their testing facility would be located somewhere in Virginia. We’ll look into it. Continue Reading ‘GIVE ME A KRISS: KRISS Super V Sub-Machine Gun’

Raelians want to establish ET embassy in Jerusalem

On November 8, the Israeli daily newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth published a report on the 40th anniversary of SETI, the institute whose stated purpose is to "explore, understand and explain the origin, nature and prevalence of life in the universe".

While participating in a conference celebrating SETI and its search for ‘intelligent life beyond our own planet’, Professor Sergei Yazeb of the Academy of Sciences in Russia, where the conference was held, put forward a startling proposal.

In a report distributed to all conference participants, Yazeb detailed six attributes of our solar system that distinguish it from all other discovered solar systems. Continue Reading ‘Raelians want to establish ET embassy in Jerusalem’

Mysterious Runaway Star Stymies Scientists

Astronomers have stumbled onto a runaway star inbound to our galaxy that might have been kicked out of our nearest galactic neighbor by a supermassive black hole.
The star, HE 0437-5439, was found on a star survey and initially led its discoverers to suspect their instruments were out of whack.

"We first thought our wavelength calibration was off," said astronomer Ralf Napiwotzki of the University of Hertfordshire’s Center for Astrophysics Research in the U.K.

The light from the star was both the wrong color (wavelength) for where the star is located and showed spectral signs that it is traveling inbound to the Milky Way at an unusually high speed — about 1.6 million miles per hour (2.6 million kilometers per hour).

America to aid the French vs. the Teens

Since the riots seemed to be from a bunch of loosely organized local groups there is no clear leader. So the French have been unable to find anyone to surrender to.  President Bush has authorized the Joint Chiefs to begin drawing up a battle plan to pull France’s ass out of the fire again.

President Bush asked Gen. Pace to get our marines out of there as soon as possible after order was restored. He also reminded Gen. Pace to make sure the marines did not take soap, razors, or deodorant with them. The more they blend in, the better.

Facing an apparent overwhelming force of up to 400 pissed off teenagers Mr. Bush doubts France’s ability to hold off the little piss ants. "Hell, if the last two world wars are any indication, I would expect France to surrender any day now", said Bush. Joint Chiefs head, Gen. Peter Pace, warned the President that it might be necessary to send up to 5 marines to get things under control. The general admitted that 5 marines may be overkill but he wanted to get this thing under control within 24 hours of arriving on scene. He stated he was having a hard time finding even one marine who wanted to help those ungrateful bastards out for a third time but thought that he could persuade a few women marines to do the job before they went shopping.

Texas Grandmother Shoots Intruder

This, of course, is all over the AM talk shows and the Sean Hannity show.  A Texas grandmother puts a couple bullets into an intruder, non-lethal by choice.  I don’t know if I would have been so nice.  Arlington is just maybe a 10 minute drive from where I live.  I have been considering interviewing her for GeeksWithGuns.com, but as you can imagine, she has been a very busy lady.

ARLINGTON, Texas – A woman found evidence on her porch that someone might have broken into her house when she let her dogs out for a walk early Wednesday morning. The woman’s granddaughter also said she heard noises from inside the house. Continue Reading ‘Texas Grandmother Shoots Intruder’

Faster then a Speeding bullet?

Military Testing Infrared Gunfire Detector:
I find that this is an amazing device, they can shoot the sniper before the snipers target gets hit!
A sniper fires on American troops in Iraq. In the milliseconds before the bullet hits _ in fact, before the shot is even heard _ a computer screen reveals the gun’s model and exact location. That’s the kind of intelligence that can save soldiers’ lives. The Army is currently testing the technology in combat.

The devices are made by Radiance Technologies, a small Alabama company, and differ in their approach to gunfire detection from systems already deployed in Iraq that rely on acoustics.

Radiance’s invention, WeaponWatch, is powered by infrared sensors that detect missiles or gunfire at the speed of light.

"Obviously when the first shot is fired, you can’t do anything about it," said George Clark, president of the company founded in 1999. "But what it does do is it allows you to not have a second fired."

WeaponWatch is a major reason that Radiance, which had only three employees six years ago, now has 275. Over that period, it’s been one of the 500 fastest-growing small businesses in the United States.

FBI mines records of ordinary Americans

Under Patriot Act, feds probe lives of residents not alleged to be terrorists

The FBI came calling in Windsor, Conn., this summer with a document marked for delivery by hand. On Matianuk Avenue, across from the tennis courts, two special agents found their man. They gave George Christian the letter, which warned him to tell no one, ever, what it said.
Under the shield and stars of the FBI crest, the letter directed Christian to surrender "all subscriber information, billing information and access logs of any person" who used a specific computer at a library branch some distance away. Christian, who manages digital records for three dozen Connecticut libraries, said in an affidavit that he configures his system for privacy. But the vendors of the software he operates said their databases can reveal the Web sites that visitors browse, the e-mail accounts they open and the books they borrow.

Christian refused to hand over those records, and his employer, Library Connection Inc., filed suit for the right to protest the FBI demand in public. The Washington Post established their identities — still under seal in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit — by comparing unsealed portions of the file with public records and information gleaned from people who had no knowledge of the FBI demand.
