Just weeks after a scandal erupted over a Department of Homeland Secrity report that described as "right wing extremists" those who oppose abortion and support secure national borders, another report is revealing that the Department of Defense is teaching that protesters are "low-level terrorists."
The newest action to define those who disagree with positions adopted by the government or administration of the United States was revealed by blogger Dennis Loo at Salon.com.
He cited a complaint filed by the no. Cal. branch of ACLU demanding that the Department of Defense change its instructions and those who have been given the training be told of the modifications by "sending out corrective materials."

The Internal Revenue Service is being asked to investigate the tax-exempt status of Americans United for Seperation of Church and State because of its political activities, the same charge AU has leveled against a large number of church ministries and Christian organizations over the years.
Today’s letter from Liberty Council alleges the organization’s actions "violate the same tax-exempt laws it pretends to uphold and the group has become merely a façade for a liberal agenda and the Democratic Party."

Internet filesharing and beef up web privacy scored a big victory
Sunday by winning a European parliament seat, results showed. The
Pirate Party won 7.1 percent of votes, taking one of Sweden’s 18 seats
in the European parliament, with ballots in 5,659 constituencies out of
5,664 counted. "Privacy issues and civil liberties are
important to people and they demonstrated that clearly when they voted
today," one of the party’s candidates, Anna Troberg, told Swedish

The Internal Revenue Service has filed a tax lien seeking more than $800,000 from Sen. John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign, escalating a dispute over payroll taxes that the lawmaker’s office blames on faulty government paperwork.
The episode has left a candidate who fell just a few percentage points short of winning the White House trying to convince the government’s tax collector that his campaign already paid the taxes and doesn’t owe any more.
The IRS filed the lien in the District of Columbia earlier this year, claiming that a previous attempt to collect the money was unsuccessful. "We have made a demand for payment of this liability, but it remains unpaid," the tax filing stated.
The IRS is taking action more than a year after the campaign closed its books and sent nearly $200,000 in leftover presidential campaign money to Mr. Kerry’s Senate election fund.
