When the public is packing heat, it’s more dangerous for deranged criminals to threaten innocent life because individuals can defend themselves. No organization does more to protect our right to keep and bear arms than the National Rifle Association, and when you go against the NRA, you get thumped. Just ask Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.-[source]

A storm of liberal anti-gun opinion is swelling to force international anti-gun policies on American citizens as NAGR continues the fight to protect the Second Amendment from international gun grabbers.

Recently we reported that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the Obama Administration are pushing for Senate ratification of the United Nations’ “Small Arms Treaty.” The National Association for Gun Rights has taken the lead on stopping this end-run around the Constitution by contacting millions of Americans about this impending threat to their liberties, and working with principled leaders in Washington, D.C. to build a bulwark against the treaty.-[source]

The EPA must decide to accept or reject this petition by November 1, 2010, the day before the midterm elections.-[source]

“M1 for Vets” Purpose:

“M1 for Vets” is A non-profit organization dedicated to financial and logistical support of returning Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and the Global War on Terror (GWT) “Transitioning Combat Wounded Veterans” for the purpose of competing in national shooting sports.

“M1 for Vets” Theme:

“From the Greatest Generation to the Next Greatest Generation”…

“M1 for Vets” Evolvement:

Nonprofit organizations are started by truly dedicated people. Not all non-profits survive the years of difficult work to become great organizations. The great ones are started by people who feel passion from their hearts and are able to direct and focus that passion and turn it into a great organization. “M1 for Vets” is on its way to becoming one of the great ones.

The idea of “M1 for Vets” came forth from a conversation JJ Oshea and fellow friends had while talking about how they wanted to give something back to our wounded war heroes. These kinds of thoughts come from our hearts and provide the push necessary to accomplish feats beyond our expectations.

In a short three year period, JJ and friends have launched their campaign and given M1 rifles to more than 160 wounded war heroes. This effort is an ongoing process and continues to grow because of the diligence of local shooting clubs around the country desiring to assist “M1 for Vets” and its efforts.-[source]

There’s a new sign in town.

About a month ago, Chappell Hill Bank president Edward Smith looked at a sign on the front door prohibiting concealed weapons from his business and decided to make a policy change.

Licensed to carry a handgun? Come on in, and bring your weapon.

The sign, now prominently displayed on the bank’s front door, says, “Lawful concealed carry permitted on these premises. Management recognizes the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution as an inalienable right of all citizens. We therefore support and encourage the carrying of licensed concealed weapons.”

Smith said he made the policy change to send a warning to potential robbers, and also to express support to Americans’ right to bear arms.-[source]

The bill, HR 2324, would subject gun show hosts to a slew of pointless, time consuming regulations in addition to heaping all sorts of red tape and record keeping requirements on gun show hosts and participants.

The ultimate goal of Quigley’s bill is to make hosting a gun show too much of a hassle to endure. As a result, this bill would quickly make gun shows disappear all together.

It should be noted that Congressman Mark Kirk (IL-10) is another co-sponsor of this slap to the face of the 2nd Amendment.-[source]
