RASMUSSEN POLL CONFIRMS AMERICANS FEAR OBAMA GUN CONTROL AGENDA

A new Rasmussen poll reveals that 57 percent of American citizens believe gun sales are up over the past several months because of widespread fears that the government will tighten restrictions on gun ownership.

“The poll results confirm what we’ve been saying,” noted Alan Gottlieb, chairman of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. “American citizens are fearful that the Obama administration and a Democrat-controlled Congress will pass new laws to further erode the individual right to own firearms. This concern was further enhanced by yesterday’s ruling in Minnesota that far left anti-gunner Al Franken should be seated as a U.S. Senator representing that state, giving Democrats a 60-member majority.”

Federal agents hunt for guns, one house at a time

The ATF recently dispatched 100 veteran agents to its Houston division, which reaches to the border. The mission is especially challenging because, officials say, that while Houston is the number one point of origin for weapons traced back to the United States from Mexico, the government can’t compile databases on gun owners under federal law. Agents instead review firearms dealers’ records in person. People who are legally in the United States and have clean criminal records, but are facing economic problems are often recruited by traffickers to buy weapons on their behalf in order to shield themselves from scrutiny.[Read more]

Flag-burning man sues city

A Hondo man who was cited for burning the Mexican flag in front of the Alamo is suing the city of San Antonio, park rangers and The Daughters of the Republic of Texas over the matter.

David Bohmfalk, 48, claims he burned the flag on May 17, 2007, to protest a Senate bill that would have given amnesty to millions of unauthorized immigrants. The measure did not become law.

Just weeks after a scandal erupted over a Department of Homeland Secrity report that described as "right wing extremists" those who oppose abortion and support secure national borders, another report is revealing that the Department of Defense is teaching that protesters are "low-level terrorists."

The newest action to define those who disagree with positions adopted by the government or administration of the United States was revealed by blogger Dennis Loo at Salon.com.

He cited a complaint filed by the no. Cal. branch of ACLU demanding that the Department of Defense change its instructions and those who have been given the training be told of the modifications by "sending out corrective materials."
